COLD WATER THERAPY USING ICE BATHS

Used by athletes after strenuous workouts, cold water therapy improves physical recovery and reduces micro-tears in muscle fibres.

It works in two ways:

  • using hydrostatic pressure (immersion in water)
  • using very low temperatures (cryotherapy)

The cold water therapy technique is to immerse yourself fully or partially in the ice bath, where the temperature is below 15 °C for between 10 and 15 minutes (maximum).
